Very cool Graffiti tag piece by the legendary King of Graffiti, Blade.
This hand made piece is based on the large subway whole car pieces that Blade did on NYC trains in the 70s-80s during the start of the Street Art and Graffiti era.
This particular Subway piece was originally painted on a subway by Blade in 1975.
An image of this artwork on the train is also in both Blade’s book, Blade King of Graffiti as well as in the Original Subway Art Book by Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant.
It is painted by Blade on a double postal label sticker with markers in multi-colors.
The piece is also hand signed by Blade on the back with the references of where the artwork is found in books mentioned.
He has also tagged his signature blade crown on back with the year of this piece as well as his real name, Steven Ogburn and his date of birth giving this amazing provenance and authenticity.
